Last night on Smackdown a very cheerful Maria came down to the ring dancing to The Great Khali’s theme song with her tag team partners. After getting the loss for her team by a devastating tornado clothesline from Natalya, Maria’s smile faded. Backstage she was visibly upset about costing her team them match. The Hart Dynasty def. Matt Hardy, The Great Khali & Maria
In this Six-Person Mixed Tag Team Match, it was Natayla who earned the victory for her team by brutally clotheslining Maria. After the destruction, Matt Hardy did the gentlemanly thing by helping his Valentine back to her feet.

Before the tag team action could get under way, Matt Hardy introduced Maria as his “special valentine.” After the stunning Diva mixed things up with an interfering Natalya, Hardy captured a victory for himself and The Punjabi Playboy with a roll-up on Tyson Kidd.

Claiming that Mickie James is leaving SmackDown for good, Women’s Champion Michelle McCool and Layla hosted an in-ring going away party for Mickie James. As usual, the duo hurled insults, such as “Piggy James.” After exchanging words, the party was spoiled when a full-blown brawl broke out with Maria battling Layla, and Michelle battling Mickie.

Then, Beth Phoenix charged into the ring to join the fray. At first she hesitated as to which side she was going to choose, but then finally grabbed Maria and cleared her from the ring. Next, The Glamazon helped Layla hold Mickie, while Michelle smashed cake in her face and poured a bowl of punch over her head. Mickie was reduced to tears after the ugly assault. Mickie and Michelle will meet again at Royal Rumble.

As we reported earlier this week, Maria was in action at the Smackdown tapings, but for some odd reason WWE chose not to include the match in their broadcast.  It’s a shame we didn’t get to see Maria in action this week.  Perhaps they will air match between The Hart Dynasty VS. Slam Master J, Jimmy Wang Yang & Maria next week.

Mickie James & Maria def. Beth Phoenix & Layla
Prior to the match, Women’s Champion Michelle McCool and Layla continued in their mean-spirited ways of hurling insults at Mickie James. Despite the hurtful words, Mickie was able to focus and get the pinfall over Layla, giving her and Maria the victory. Then, after the bell, the fired-up Mickie headed straight for McCool, who was seated with the announce team. But before Mickie could get to her rival, Beth Phoenix attacked from behind, slamming Mickie onto the announce table. Reveling in the attack, Michelle stood over her fallen rival and engaged in a stare down with The Glamazon. Despite the tension in the air, the Christmas clashing had come to an end.
