Maria went back to her roots tonight at SummerSlam…as a backstage interviewer! She interviewed her former boyfriend Santino Marella and his new “friend”, Beth Pheonix. As with all Santino segments this was pretty funny, and Maria even made fun of his hideous uni-brow. We have the video (HD version possibly later this week) as well as over 50 captures for your viewing pleasure. Maria looked absolutely beautiful!

BALTIMORE – The Glamazon has proven that she’s not one to be forgotten, as the former Women’s Champion and her five-Diva crew came out on top at Backlash in the first-ever 12-Diva Tag Team Match.
With the help of Natalya, Jillian, Melina, Victoria and Layla, Beth Phoenix dominated the thrilling tag match and picked up the pinfall over Ashley. But Phoenix and friends’ victory was far from easy. During the sexiest match at Backlash, the Divas’ battle turned into absolute pandemonium as the 12-woman fight raged on outside of the ring.
Throughout the 12-Diva Tag Team Match, McCool, Maria, Cherry, Kelly Kelly, Ashley and Women’s Champ James demonstrated that they are forces to be reckoned with in the Divas’ roster. Ashley looked like she’d never back down or give up against The Glamazon. But Phoenix showed that while she might not hold Women’s gold, she’s still a dominant Diva as she forcefully drove her team to victory at Backlash.

Such a conflict was destined to happen. Ashley braves Survivor: China. Maria dumps Santino Marella in order to prove her independence. WWE Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix makes bold statements to WWE.com that she would “raise the bar on all standards for women,” with former Women’s Champion Melina by her side. Tonight, supervised by the Master of Ceremonies, Snoop Dogg himself, the rivalry between these four Divas exploded in the stunning BunnyMania Lumberjack Match.
The Glamazon has been virtually unstoppable since capturing the Women’s Championship at last year’s No Mercy. Both she and Melina harbored a great deal of resentment over the recent attention Maria has been receiving as the newest Playboy cover girl. Then, when another former Women’s Champion and fellow Playboy cover girl, Candice Michelle, was forced to withdraw from the match due to injury, Ashley stepped in to fill her BunnyMania shoes.

Backstage, Ashley knocked on Maria’s locker room door and Santino Marella walked out instead. He said Maria is getting ready for the first HD kiss cam. Santino said her Maria can’t say no to anyone or anything. Ashley said that’s probably why she’s still with him. Santino, unfazed, cut a promo about Maria not being interested in Ashley’s boobie magazine. He cut a promo on Ashley being eliminated on Survivor. He slammed the door in her face to close.
Maria’s music hits as she comes out with a mic. She says that it is time for the first ever Royal Rumble Kiss Cam. They do the Kiss Cam, embarrassing as many people as possible. Maria thanks the crowd as the last couple is booed for not even kissing. Ashley’s music hits and she makes her way out. Ashley gets in the ring and kisses Maria. Ashley tells Maria that she got a call last week from Hugh Hefner and he wanted to know if she was interested in posing for Playboy. Maria starts to answer as Santino Marella’s music hits. Marella says “stop it, just stop it.” He gets in the ring and tells Maria that since she obviously didn’t get it earlier the answer is no. He says that no one wants to see Maria without her clothes on. The crowd boos as Marella goes on to insult New York sports franchises. The crowd starts a loud let’s go Giants chant. Ashley tells Santino to “wait a minute.” Santino says that nobody cares about the Giants. Ashley tells Santino that this is Maria’s decision. Maria says she doesn’t know and asks the crowd if they want to see her pose for Playboy. Obviously the crowd cheers as Marella interrupts by insulting the crowd.
