You may remember our piece on Joy Valencia. For those who aren’t familiar… she’s a very talented singer, songwriter and producer. Joy co-wrote “Alice in Wonderland” & “Sevin Sins” and also did vocal production on Maria’s debut EP, Sevin Sins. Now Joy is working on her own music and the video for her single “Don’t Wake the Lion” has hit the internet. It’s really well done, check it out!

This was one of those moments when all you wish you could do is rewind the clock an hour and do things a little differently… but unfortunately, this shark was approaching and that was just not an option. And as it came closer, I realized I had no idea what to do. Literally… no idea. If it’s possible to sweat bullets under water, I was doing it. If a shark can actually smell fear, than the poor guy must have been extremely overwhelmed.

I began to convince myself that I really didn’t need my right leg. I was just hoping someone would be around to tell my story, since I was sure it would not be me. My heart stopped as I felt his skin make contact with mine. This grey nurse shark rubbed his slimy, long, rough, leather-like body across the bottom half of my leg, as if he wanted to be pet. It was momentarily calming. As he swam away unfazed, the amount of emotions that were flooding throughout me was remarkable. I was horrified but amazed, panicked but relieved, terrified but floored… all at the same time. It was breathtaking. One minute in my life that I can never forget.

My name’s Erica and I’m a student at Roger Williams. I have an abnormal passion for adventure that seems to constantly be growing. For a 21 year old, I’ve been very privileged – already having six countries and two continents under my belt. I’ve been skydiving in New Zealand, snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef, done the Hula in Hawaii, and have drank a beer at the world’s highest bar. Maria Kanellis is no stranger to reality TV, having completed a great run on Celebrity Apprentice earlier this year. In recent interviews Maria has stated that she’d love to be on “Dancing with the Stars” next. WWE would like to express its deepest condolences to Eddie Fatu’s family, friends and fans on his tragic passing. Eddie Fatu was under contract with WWE at various time periods and most recently performed under the name “Umaga.” Eddie Fatu’s contract was terminated on June 11, 2009.

Maria-Kanellis.org would also like to express its condolences to Umagas family & friends.  R.I.P.

The wrestling attire for the ladies has become more conservative as well. Maria Kanellis, one of the WWE’s “diva” wrestlers, used to perform in lingerie but these days tries to dress “a little more sophisticated” for her matches.

“The guys miss it, but that’s how it goes,” she said.

Her costumes now consist of leggings, lots of “fringe outfits and things that are sparkly.” It’s not unusual, she said, for some of the girls to get reprimanded for “showing too much cleavage,” something that would’ve never happened a few years ago.

I don’t know why I should have vilified Maria on Friday Night Smackdown as some have suggested via their emails. What has she done wrong? Date an arrogant wrestler? Wow, she would be the first to ever do that, right?
