Maria was quoted in a Los Angeles Time’s interview discussing the WWE’s new “PG” rating and how it affects the WWE Diva’s.

The wrestling attire for the ladies has become more conservative as well. Maria Kanellis, one of the WWE’s “diva” wrestlers, used to perform in lingerie but these days tries to dress “a little more sophisticated” for her matches.

“The guys miss it, but that’s how it goes,” she said.

Her costumes now consist of leggings, lots of “fringe outfits and things that are sparkly.” It’s not unusual, she said, for some of the girls to get reprimanded for “showing too much cleavage,” something that would’ve never happened a few years ago.

Smackdown announcer Jim Ross wrote a blog post where he talks about some emails he’s received regarding Maria’s current face/heel status.

I don’t know why I should have vilified Maria on Friday Night Smackdown as some have suggested via their emails. What has she done wrong? Date an arrogant wrestler? Wow, she would be the first to ever do that, right?

WWE just confirmed on their official Twitter account that the Maria Kanellis account is FAKE.  Some have thought it was a fake for a while, but others, myself included, were on the fence about it.  WWE has posted this tweet explaining that they follow all the official Superstars accounts.  If you head on over to WWE’s follow list, “Maria’s” account is no where to be seen.  Congratualtions @MariaKanellis, for being one of the best fakers out there.

UPDATE: Twitter has now removed the fake Maria’s account.

Joey Styles just announced on his official Twitter account that WWE.com will be releasing a “Spring Flowers” themed divas photoshoot sometime next week on WWE.com.  I cant wait to see what Maria has in store for us in her new photoshoot.

Now if only we could get confirmation on that Maria Twitter account…but thats a story for another day!

There has been a lot of people wondering if Twitter.com/MariaKanellis is the real Maria. It’s hard to know for sure, but it seems very authentic! She posts many “tweets” throughout her day, and even some personal photos. I sent her a tweet telling her about Maria-Kanellis.org, and asked how her little dog Gemini was doing and this is what she sent back!  Until she posts a link to this twitter page on her WWE Universe profile or official website, we have to take this with a grain of salt…
