Sondra meets Maria!
Sondra was kind enough to send in more great photos from last Thursday’s charity event at Cold Stone Creamery. I asked if she’d like to describe what the experience was like and here’s what she had to say:
I’ve met MANY wrestlers, and I can’t say that all of them were pleasant experiences. I do have my favorites, but I’d have to say that Maria was THE best celebrity that I’ve ever met. She is sincere. Her enthusiasm and personality is off the wall, in a good way! I was blown away by how kind and compassionate she was. My friend mentioned to her that I was training to be a professional wrestler, and that I get a lot of trash talk from people saying that I’m not going to make it ’cause I’m too tiny, when Maria is basically the same size as me, so Maria gave everyone a speech on the mic about how “it doesn’t matter what size you are! As long as you have the heart and the passion, you can be a wrestler!” That was truly amazing. I got at least a good half an hour in total of talking to her, my friend recorded the first time I went over to talk to her. Maria made everyone ice cream, and I felt blessed to have been made and handed a cup of ice cream by her! I even kept the spoon! Later on, after handing Maria her gifts, which one of them was an armband and she wore it for the rest of the night! I was then pulled aside out of many people, and only a few people were pulled aside, for what? To be interview by the WWE camera crew! While I was being interviewed, Maria came all the way over by me, stopped making ice cream, and sneaked up behind me! Then, we all went to go outside, and Maria, myself and several other people were in front of the WWE camera crew once again, jumping up and down, chanting “ICE CREAM!”. Maria also told me that I was wearing a shirt that she has, and that’d she’d wear it for her next photo shoot to show me! I hope she does, it was already such an honor to see her wearing the arm bands I gave her. She also said that we looked alike, and the WWE crew was cracking jokes about us looking alike while they took pictures of us for the WWE websites. It was totally worth facing my fear of going places alone, traveling on a train, and walking the streets of NYC all by myself all the way from New Jersey. I even told her that, and she was in such awe that I did. I’d do that for her anyday, it was so worth it and it was a dream come true to have finally met her! So worth it!
Thanks again Sondra! Be sure to check out Sondra’s Youtube channel to watch even more videos she took at the Cold Stone event. Good luck with your training Sondra, maybe one day we’ll see you go one on one with Maria in the ring!
