Maria’s Celebrity Apprentice Blog #8
Each week Maria will blog about what it was like being on Celebrity Apprentice. Last week was a busy one for Maria, this is her blog about the May 2nd episode of Celebrity Apprentice. :
What’s up all!!!
I have to say this is the first episode that I didn’t like how it was edited. It seemed jumpy in places and the flow of the show was off. Maybe it is just too much information in one episode. Two hours is a lot of time for a TV show but when we were actually working about 30 hours on each task it can’t quite capture the entire experience. For me, doing this entire project was fun, entertaining, and an educational experience which isn’t exactly what I’d seen on TV. It is the wonders of TV and the magic of telling a story. Summer was a sweetheart and I thought she was so nice to everyone but while watching the show I get a completely different vibe from her. Summer was great with Cyndi and at one point Summer and Sharon were the only ones who Cyndi would listen to. Summer is a great woman and I completely respect everything she has done. Editing is one of those things that make context everything. If you don’t know what the context is it makes it hard to really know anyone’s intentions.

Holly and the Peetes: what a great family. They truly love their mother. Holly is a woman that you don’t always understand where she is coming from because she has a bit of an attitude. All I thought to myself while filming this show was that this woman is doing great things and is an inspiring woman. So, if she is a bit B-I-T-C-H-Y well, she is a woman on a mission and that mission is for one of her youngsters. I get that. Anyways, what you didn’t see on the show is Holly’s knee! Oh my!! When her kids gave her that bear hug that knocked her down she scraped her knee. It was ugly. Gross. Holly was limping after it happened for days. Poor thing. How cool though was it to watch Rodney and Holly? A marriage that survives after a child is diagnosed with autism is rare and they have 4 children all together. And they are celebrities. Wow. What a great family. 80 percent of marriages end in divorce if a child in the family has autism. Autism diagnoses are much more common in males than in females. According to the 2006 study results, one in 70 boys in the nation have an autism diagnosis while only one in 315 girls are in the autism spectrum. You can read more at ww.Hollyrod.org. On to the task: when we first get to the SoHo Trump hotel I am scared we have to build an entire building, perform at Cirque du Soleil, or run an entire country. At this point I would not be surprised if we had to do all of it simultaneously and under water. Trump is a very demanding boss. He expects a lot. I am tired and sore after the last task, “The Rock Star Workout” but bring it on Mr. Trump! Team RockSolid is awesome and I am ready to conquer the world! No matter the task at least we will have fun. We receive the task and we have to create 3 unique commercials/jingles. The entire way over to the work room we are laughing, making fart noises, and being perverted. It’s a nice relaxed environment. I am interested to hear Bret’s ideas about the jingles and I know Sharon will give him guidance. What a great couple of people to be creating jingles with: Sharon Osborne and Bret Michaels. With a group like this you can’t go wrong. It is amazing what can happen when people with similar personalities get together. What you didn’t see is that we just didn’t stop laughing, ever.
On the other team Summer is the project manager and I am so confused. Why is she the project manager? It doesn’t really make sense to me but I guess they are just taking turns. Holly just came off of a big win, Cyndi and Curtis won for their charities, so Summer is up. I am surprised re-watching it because it seemed to me that Summer didn’t do a whole lot in this task. She delegated better though than in the last task she did and gave her team all the proper jobs. Poor Cyndi; I don’t think she understands what she does to people and how she pushes them. It is tough to watch because I don’t think she is a bad person. She just has a hard time with the time constraints and the teamwork. It seemed to me that Team Tenacity was quickly falling apart. Cyndi felt the same as Holly and Summer did. Everyone on that team felt unheard. But I also didn’t like that Holly was whispering to Summer in the car. That is so weird and high school to me. Their executive meeting was funny with Cyndi interjecting about Ben Franklin’s bath tub. Tiny bubbles up your nose……. Oh Ben with your French women and your bubbles.
“Marialicious” ha, ha. Thanks Bret, you can always make a girl smile. When the executives came in, it was like the air went out of the room. They were so serious and we were so not. I think they did laugh a little bit more in the meeting than what was shown. Team RockSolid did get a lot of information from them about this task. We had a pretty good idea of what to do and what not to do. It was hard though because Bret wanted the “crack” line in the commercial and we could have spent time working on something else. BUTT, Bret was the project manager so Sharon and I just had to go along with it even though I felt it was wrong. We get started and everyone is throwing in their two cents on our team. Bret is making jingles and Sharon is working on structure. I am putting things to music and singing too: one comment said was that it was like being in a bad musical. Bret at one point said his career was over because he was writing jingles. Ha, ha, ha; so funny all of us were just putting it out there without concern of our own pride to get this task done. We all wanted to win for our charities and Team RockSolid wanted to win for Bret’s.
Team Tenacity had so much information in their commercial and they said it themselves: it was just not that original. I do have to say that Curtis was working so hard to put a jingle together and he just had no idea what he was doing. Holly had a bit more style to hers and Cyndi of course was great. Curtis and his pizza: the love affair of a lifetime. “Oh pizza, I did not make you but I love you so with your deliciooouuus cheese and your fluffy bread. Let me handle your dough and get your sausage. Xoxox,” Curtis says. Please, get over yourself Curtis. Bret was feeling bad and light headed so of course I wanted to find him something to make him feel better. Sorry, it happened to be your precious pizza but I was worried about Bret. Bret sometimes gets so focused on his work that he forgets that he needs to take care of himself. Curtis ran after me like I stole his watch! Ha, ha. Mister Curtis the Crabby Panted Pizza Lover.
It was so funny watching the faces of Summer and Holly because I didn’t know if those were or weren’t the faces that they were making while Cyndi was singing or those faces were just dropped in. Cyndi was sick and I felt bad for her because it is annoying trying to sing while you are sick. It is very hard and it hurts your voice. Holly and Summer were worried about Cyndi singing live but that is what she does for a living and she is darn good at it. I wasn’t worried at all for her. Curtis plays it very good in this episode taking Cyndi’s side and calling the other 2 women bitchy. In the end Cyndi sounded great in the commercial and I am so glad she did it. It’s great to hear Cyndi perform. Doesn’t matter what it is.
Performing was weird because we didn’t have an audience to know how we were doing. I like people and faces. I think it is much easier to perform that way. I have to say it was sexy seeing Bret in the studio. Headphones on, microphone on, bandana on and I am turned on. Ow, ow! Sing to me Bret even if it is about my clogged toilet. Our ads were great and a little pornographic. I am very proud of the commercials we had. Bret was in studio, Sharon was in the studio, and I was controlling the music. I was so happy that everything came out right. Everyone on RockSolid was great and worked hard.
In the boardroom, I felt very comfy with my team and I am happy because I like my team. When we won I was excited for Bret!! Go team RockSolid! 40,000 dollars for the American Diabetes Association. It was hard to see Summer go but she did win money for her charity. Summer had a hard time fighting in the boardroom against Curtis. Summer is gone and now we are stuck with Curtis. Ugh. The pompous Curtis!!
Congrats Bret and to donate go to http://www.diabetes.org/Thanks and we are coming down to the end. Who is gonna win?
