A backstage segment AND a match! Shes now in a storyline with Ziggler and wrestling. Lets hope she continues to be used this often!

I dont watch Smackdown (I just download Maria’s segments)….but isnt Ziggler a heel? Could this mean Maria may be turning heel? (Smackdown is lacking diva heels).

Maria was with Santino (heel) and didnt really become one herself, so I guess we’ll have to wait and see. I just hope this storyline continues and doesnt get dropped!

We’ll see, but I don’t see her becoming a heel – they’re pushing Ziggler from very low card to mid card by having him in some big matches lately and beating Khali, etc. Since he’s being pushed so much right now, having him with Maria and “hurting her” would be a way to establish him as more of a heel. I kind of want to like the guy, he needs to do something awful to Maria so I’ll hate him. She’s the ultimate babyface diva.

If Maria ever turns heel, it will be for a push of her own. If a face diva was champ right now, Maria could turn and challenge her. But who knows, maybe she’ll turn heel with the Zig. I just don’t see how that benefits either one of them.

I am made up she is finally in a match this week and also a backstage segment SmackDown is definatewly getting watched this week. I’ve read on other sites that Maria/Melina won a tag match against Michelle/Layla, i think that makes more sense than to have a fatal four way match non title with the champion involved

I’ve actually been lookling for spoilers all night for this week’s Smackdown and found a link to them on a site I wasn’t expecting. So this is a great find much thanks.

On the subject of Maria turning heel – count me in the minority but I think she would play a good heel and it wouldn’t be too hard. Keep in mind, today’s WWE audience isn’t the “smart”, mature ECW crowd that watched during the Attitude era. The product is a lot more family friendly based and I think a lot of people will just boo someone as a heel for being a heel.

I’m not sure what sort of depth as an actress Maria has. She’s really only played the good girl and a ditz during her earlier days on Raw. In WWE, sadly a heel diva is mainly ment to be full of herself and has a mindset that she’s too good for everyone. So in reality, Maria just has to act arrogant and throw in some of her “trademark cuteness” to harden the blow. I think she’d pull off a credible heel.

I would prefer to see a Maria heel turn on her own, however at this point a heel turn for her in general would just make her more interesting, I think. It’s kind of sad to see people dismiss the idea so quickly or think that she could never play a nastier character. Still, I want to note that I respect the differing opinon and that it may be correct.

However, personally, I think she could pull it off if the storyline was correct. I had a different one in mind, but if it involves this Ziggler fella, wouldn’t be hard for him to “date” Eve, Layla and her and in the end, have Maria and him play all of them and the fans for suckers by making it seem like she was being played when they were playing everyone whos “beneath their Stardom”. Her reasoning could be that she feels the fans are leeching off of her and that she’s done more than they ever will and is sick of them trying to be like her or get with her with their letters and emails, etc. It might sound a little typical and too Sable heel turn like, but it’s something new for Maria and a storyline.

Even though it does seem unlikley they would turn Maria heel, it also seems odd that Maria would suddenly try and have Layla and Eve play nice. So for all we know this Ziggler/Maria storyline has been brewing for a few weeks.

Just a random thought from a passerby. Good news is, if there are plans for a turn or something, they tape the next Smackdown Wednesday night so there’s just under 24 hours to know what happens.

Its on that link you posted they updated it to say its a tag team match now, but other sites were reporting it, and KS i agree with you Maria turning heel would be a nice refreshing change for her character and would give her a decent storyline

FINALLY MARIA HAS COME BACK TO THE RING. I don’t think she’ll be a heel. Cuz if she does it’ll be 4-2 for the heels. Layla doesn’t seem to be turning face and u got Michelle McCool & Natalya. I’m guessin Ziggler will just break Maria’s heart. Examples of why Maria may not turn heel: 1) Randy Orton broke Kelly Kelly’s heart during that weird Kane thing, 2) Kelly was with The Miz back on ECW and she never did heel stuff, 3) Santino Marella and Maria.
