1. Divas Champion Maryse wins the title SmackDown’s seductive starlet, Maryse, became the second woman to hold the Divas Championship when she defeated Michelle McCool on Dec. 26, 2008. The Canadian Diva’s win was even sweeter because she earned her first Divas Title in Toronto. Maria was guest referee during the match, and since McCool’s loss, her friendship with Maria has forever been tarnished. Maryse has held the Divas Championship for nearly three months. Who will dare challenge the glamorous French Canadian queen of Friday nights?
5. Divas Olympics Tag Team Match In celebration of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, six SmackDown Divas donned the gear of some of their favorite athletes and duked it out in one of the most memorable tag matches ever on Friday nights. It was then-Divas Champ Michelle McCool, Maria & Cherry vs. current Divas Champ Maryse, Natalya & Victoria on Aug. 8, 2008. The equestrian costumed Natalya defeated summertime ski bunny Maria by submission with a Sharpshooter. And kudos to Victoria for her comical entrance as a tumbling gymnast.
7. Maria wins the Las Vegas Dice on a Pole Match Maria shined more than a Sin City showgirl on the night of Oct. 17, 2008. SmackDown’s fashionista Diva became No. 1 contender to the Divas Championship after defeating Natalya, Victoria, Brie Bella and current Champ Maryse in a Las Vegas Dice on a Pole Match. Maria gleefully climbed to the top turnbuckle and captured the giant, pink, fuzzy dice above the ring, earning a chance at Michelle McCool’s gold.
9. Six-Diva Halloween Tag Team Match The Divas first showed off their Halloween costumes at Cyber Sunday, where Raw’s Mickie James took home the WWE Universe’s prize as the favorite. But the SmackDown Divas put their costumes to the test in a Six-Diva Halloween Tag Team Match on Oct. 31, 2008. “Bunny” Maria picked up the victory for her teammates, “Army brat” Michelle McCool and “Cleopatra” Brie Bella, when she pinned “wacky banana” Victoria, who teamed up with “police officer” Natalya and “French maid” Maryse.
